Això podria ser una rave (This could be a rave) is the result of a research project in the countryside of Guilleries and Gavarres. It’s the interpretation of a gestural and audiovisual archive that comprises interviews, a guided walk through the woods over tyres, the shearing of a dog, woodcutters, chainsaws, chestnut trees, logs, smoke and charcoal, oaks or eyes, leaves that tremble. It narrates the rhythm of the body and also that of the world as it remembers while acting like someone biting down on a branch so as not to lose (their tongue) inside a henhouse. It’s also a hybrid essay that listens to the place where a massive concentration of creativity occurs during a short period. “What is fire?” they ask, and someone answers: “We’re dancing as if the world’s about to end and the moon rises every night”.
Piròmana d’Argos (Núria Iglesias Rodríguez, 1986) mediates, listens and pays attenton to the ductility of transversal poetics. She records and transfers, creates archives and regenerates: videoart, writing, performance, sound art, animation. Her task is connected to the medium/place, to the beings that inhabit/transition this and to minority progressions. She has travelled to New York, Singapore, Italy and Greece and has unfolded other projects in rural environments such as Susqueda – where she’s from – and Cap de Creus (Girona). She is currently developing artistic research and creation projects. She is a member of the international performance association GRESOL.
This is the tenth edition of INFLUX festival [ video on stage ] that, once again, collaborates with Antic Teatre to promote artists who use video and digital media as an integral aspect of artistic expression in their stage proposals. The festival includes works by visual artists, musicians, poets, dancers, performers or theatrical creators who work in the in-between and hybrid spaces. INFLUX aims to provide visibility for local creators from Barcelona and Catalonia and wants to help display the diversity that exists in contemporary creation. The INFLUX festival is organized by HABITUAL VIDEO TEAM.
