Citlali Hernández (Turbulente) and Eloi Isern (Eloi el Bon Noi) have decided to present their most honest session ever at Influx. They’re live coders, and live coding is an honest artistic practice. Specifically, with the audience: in live coding sessions, everything the artist writes on their computer is projected for the audience to see. Without restrictions. Eloi el Bon Noi will write code that generates music and Turbulente will use this as a canvas from which to create her visual universe (also generated using code, and in real time).
Citlali Hernández (Turbulente) is a Mexican artist and designer who focuses on exploring the possibilities of the body in the field of electronic and digital arts. Her experiments interweave the material aspects of performance with cables, pixels and circuits. Over the past few years she has been investigating the relation between viral digital media and non-verbal communication on online platforms with both online and hybrid (online/offline) performances. She teaches design and interaction at several academic institutions, is part of the Axolot.cat studio and collaborates as a visualist with Toplap Barcelona. www.turbulente.net
An active member of Barcelona’s live coder community, Eloi Isern (Eloi el Bon Noi) defines himself as a composer, live coder and hieroglyphist. He has taken part in numerous artistic events using code creatively. He also heads workshops and lectures on live coding. Full of contrasts, his music counters moments of highly saturated spectre with instants of pointilist minimalism, and cristalline harmonies with fragments of noise and glitch. www.eloielbonnoi.com
This is the tenth edition of INFLUX festival [ video on stage ] that, once again, collaborates with Antic Teatre to promote artists who use video and digital media as an integral aspect of artistic expression in their stage proposals. The festival includes works by visual artists, musicians, poets, dancers, performers or theatrical creators who work in the in-between and hybrid spaces. INFLUX aims to provide visibility for local creators from Barcelona and Catalonia and wants to help display the diversity that exists in contemporary creation. The INFLUX festival is organized by HABITUAL VIDEO TEAM.
