The experience entails an introduction to the sonar universe inhabited by the three artists, who create an environment where recorded voices and noise meld with the background soundscape and the performance, while accompanying the video recordings as unrepeatable moments passed in the waiting room for an interval of unfruitful groping and smoke.
LLAPISPANC
With a background in visual arts and action art, his creations have intensified towards sound, music and noise in an elemental way, while trying not to become a musical performer. His sonar works include the Wioityuwoityuo video tracks project (developed at L’Estruch, Sabadell, and subsequently amplified at Islington Mill in Salford (England), a performative and multidisciplinary piece with which he “tries to become a musician (without being one)”.
SRTA. “Y”
Srta. “Y” is Nadia Toldà Subirats’ alter ego when she inhabits the world of sound, audiovisual and literary manipulations. A searcher, a finder, and a creator of sound ethnographies extracted from the mundane, she moves in the field of collages, devices, and sonar and audiovisual installations, among others.
GUILLERMO CARRIÓN
Visual artist, multi instrumentalist and experimenter with sound. He has had close links to the creation centre La Escocesa, in Barcelona’s Poblenou. He is the other half of sonar project Proximity Sensor. He has worked with Chris Haslam / Dwellings and Powlow, and has taken part in The Exploding Plastic Fest.
This is the sixth edition of INFLUX festival [ video on stage ] that, once again, collaborates with Antic Teatre to promote artists who use video and digital media as an integral aspect of artistic expression for their work on stage. The festival includes works by visual artists, musicians, poets, dancers, performers and theatrical creators who exist in the inbetween spaces. INFLUX aims to become an established platform providing visibility for local creators from Barcelona and Catalonia and to help provide a multifaceted vision of the diversity that exists in contemporary creation.
