For the presentation of Un cos preciós per destruir, David Caño has gathered together on stage for the first time Barba Corsini (Eduard Escoffet & Pope), Míriam Reyes, Nois Tutú (David Caño & Gerard Altaió), Núria Martínez-Vernis, Maria Sevilla & Joan Martínez, Sílvie Rothkovic, and Irene Solà. Poetry recitals, projections, and electronica is what David Caño has prepared for us, with each poet establishing a dialogue between their work and some of the poems contained in his compilation, Un cos preciós per destruir, winner of the Jocs Florals de Barcelona 2019.
David Caño (Olot, 1980) came to fame after winning the Amadeu Oller poetry award, and in the ensuing ten or more years of work has collected his poetry – frequently direct and forceful – into eight volumes. A constant and protean presence on stage, he has taken part in hundreds of recitals in the Catalan nations and in European cities such as Zadar, Zagreb, Brno, Berlin, Brussels, Paris, Lyon, and Mannheim, as well as in musical events with Meritxell Gené, bands Ovidi3 and Ovidi4, and, more recently, with Chicos Tutú together with Gerard Altaió. For this event at Antic Teatre he has surrounded himself with some of the strongest and most interesting voices in Catalan poetry to present Un cos preciós per destruir, winner of the Jocs Florals de Barcelona 2019.
