Call for applications 2025

La Bonne and Escena Poblenou join forces to carry out LES ESCÈNIQUES: a proposal to support creation for stage projects led by women. 

The initiative aims to promote stage projects by women artists (directors, playwrights, choreographers, etc.) that have teams made up mostly of female creators.

With the complicity of the Center for Liberal Arts of the Fundació Joan Brossa and L’ Antic Teatre – Espai de Creació we offer financial aid in the form of co-production, artistic residency, technical residency, premiere and exhibition circuit.

WE ARE ADDRESSED TO:

Contemporary theatrical or multidisciplinary projects led by women that meet the following conditions:

  • They have their own financing.
  • They are in the final phase of creation.
  • They involve risk and innovation in the research and development of new scenic languages, new (original) dramaturgy or collective creation.
  • Incorporate a feminist perspective across the board.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

– FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION of €6,000 from La Bonne and Escena Poblenou.

 80 % of the box office for performances at L’Antic Teatre.

– RESIDENCES

6 weeks of artistic residency for rehearsal and project support at La Bonne.

1 week Technical residency at the Center for Liberal Arts of the Joan Brossa Foundation.

– EXHIBITION: Premiere + 4 performances

Premiere at the Escena Poblenou Festival

4 performances at the Antic Teatre.

OBSERVATIONS

Artistic and rehearsal residence at La Bonne:

  • 6 weeks, between May and July 2025, of Artistic Residency and rehearsal in a diaphanous and pleasant space from Monday to Friday, half-day (from 10am to 3pm or from 3pm to 8pm.) Day to be negotiated according to the company’s needs and space availability.
  • Access to a meeting room on time.
  • Support and dissemination of the project in residence.
  • Option to use the sound and recording studio.

Technical Residency at the Center for Liberal Arts of the Joan Brossa Foundation: 

  • From September 15 to 19.
  • Morning and afternoon at times to be agreed with the room technicians. 

Premiere within the Escena Poblenou 2025 Festival:

  • A date to be specified between October 16 and 19.
  • Depending on the proposal selected, it will be assessed whether 1 function or 2 are performed.
  • Technical support for the assembly and disassembly of the show.
  • Photographic recording of the function.

Exhibition at the Antic Teatre – Creation Space :

  • Technical and artistic residency (the three days immediately prior to the exhibition date) and exhibition (4 dates to be specified in 2026).
  • Technical support for the assembly and disassembly of the show, with a maximum of 10 hours throughout the company’s work week.
  • Payment to the company of 80% of the net box office (excluding VAT). In the event of 100% occupancy, this amount would correspond to approximately €2,500. *This box office is subject to capacity.

Call | From March 10, 2025 to April 7, 2025 (proposals can be submitted electronically until 11:59 p.m.).

Public communication of the winning proposal | early May 2025.

Artistic and Essay Residency at La Bonne | Between the months of May, June and July 2025. To be determined with the company.

Technical Residency at the Center for Liberal Arts of the Joan Brossa Foundation | from September 15 to 19, 2025.

Exhibition | October 2025 (Escena Poblenou). 2026 (Antic Teatre).

DOCUMENTATION TO BE SUBMITTED

Interested companies must submit a project on this form

The project must include the following information:

  • Synopsis.
  • Genre of the piece.
  • Staging.
  • Incorporation of the feminist perspective.
  • Brief CVs of the team.
  • Specific needs of the rehearsal space.
  • Production plan.
  • Provisional technical sheet.
  • Link to a video presenting the project (maximum 3 minutes).
  • Link to the teaser video/video of the work, or video of the creation/rehearsal process.
  • Video link of previous works.
  • Other elements to consider.

PROJECT SELECTION

  • The selection of the projects will be made by a committee formed by the coordinator of La Bonne, the director and team of Escena Poblenou, a representative of Antic Teatre – Espai de Creació, a representative of La Brossa, and other people linked to the world of performing arts with a feminist perspective.
  • The companies must adapt to the technical conditions of La Brossa, Escena Poblenou and the Antic Teatre .
  • The people who make up the company must have a feminist perspective both on a personal level and in terms of the artistic expression of the proposal.
  • The project must be led by women or people of dissident gender identity. 
  • Topics that address social commitment will be valued.
  • It will be appreciated that the team includes migrant artists and from communities or groups that are discriminated against and/or at risk of social exclusion. 
  • The companies will have to sign a contract with La Bonne, Escena Poblenou, La Brossa and l’Antic Teatre before the start of the residencies.

Call for Performing Arts residencies 2024

  • They incorporate a transversal feminist perspective.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

4 weeks of Artistic Residency and Rehearsal at La Bonne, in an open and pleasant space from Monday to Friday, half day (from 10am to 3pm or from 3pm to 8pm.) Days to be negotiated according to the needs of the company and availability ofspace.

  • Access to a meeting room on time.
  • Support and dissemination of the project in residence.
  • Option to use the sound and recording studio.
  • Technical Residency (from 27 to 30 May) and exhibitions (30, 31 May and 1 and 2 June) at the Old Theater – Space for Creation.
  • Technical support for assembly and disassembly of the show, with a maximum of 10 hours throughout the company’s work week
  • Liquidation to the company of 80% of the net box office (without VAT). *This box office is subject to capacity.

  • Other elements to consider (links with the neighborhood and/or community, proposals for alternative dates, audiovisual material…)

SELECTION OF PROJECTS

  • The selection of the projects will be made by a committee formed by the Bonne coordinator, the director of the Old Theater – Espai de Creació and other people linked to the world of the performing arts with a feminist perspective, which we will make public from March 6 .
  • The companies must adapt to the technical conditions of the Old Theatre .
  • The people who make up the company must have a feminist perspective both on a personal level and in terms of the artistic expression of the proposal.
  • The project must be led by women or people of dissident gender identity.
  • It will be valued if the process involves non-specifically artistic communities at risk of social exclusion.
  • Themes that address social commitment will be valued.
  • It will be appreciated that the team includes people who have migrated.
  • It will be valued if the team includes people from communities or groups discriminated against and/or at risk of social exclusion.
  • The companies must sign a contract with La Bonne and l’Antic Teatre before the start of the residency.
