Standing in line – a pause in our daily lives. Suspended time, non-time, a daily act that places our bodies in a determined state, that forces us to stop and wait, or positions us in conditions of power or vulnerability depending on the context and the object.

Queueing is the new research project by Jou Serra and Ursa Sekirnik. A walkabout show where the focus of the research is the audience’s experience, based on the action of standing in line.

Urša Sekirnik graduated from SEAD in 2011 and currently works as a creator, performer, dancer and teacher. She is co-founder of the KUD NUM collective and, since 2019, she’s been part of the team at La Visiva, espacio de creación. Over the past 10 years she has devised several pieces on her own and in collaboration with other artists.

Jou Serra is an interdisciplinary creator who works with light, space and the body in performance and installation arts. A graduate of SEAD and Escénica Técnica, Granada, he has codirected the company Animal Religion since 2018. He’s currently working on a personal project, Range in Between.
