#sounsolo #sóunsolo

This is just a solo. An insignificant solo. The universe will remain the same, whether this solo exists or not. The fact is, it exists. A gesture in the midst of immensity. A cry in the middle of the desert. In a kind of personal confession, percussionist Mario G. Cortizo invites us into his kitchen, his sound craftsman’s laboratory, to offer us a triptych. In his solo, microphone in hand, he shares with the audience his anti-creed about modern life, but above all, his surprise at a present full of contradictions, where silence and noise, calm and tension, peace and blood are always in conflict.

Mario G. Cortizo: Lalín, Pontevedra (1986) is an adventurous musician, a percussionist, composer, and sound creator specialising in classical, contemporary, and world music. He customises his work by listening to individuality and seeking a unique and distinctive sound for each project, transcending specific styles or musical forms. He thrives on artistic challenges that allow him to explore, improvise, and expand sonic languages, always considering the interdisciplinary nature of any artistic expression.
