We’d like to invite you to the starting point of Quan sigui gran, the new performative exploration by Antic Teatre’s community arts ensemble.
Quan sigui gran is the end result of the Antic Teatre community arts project: a symbolic birthday in which each lit candle becomes an opportunity to remember what the project has been and to value lived experiences. Through autobiographical texts, physical theatre, and dance theatre, Les Iaies, the members of the community group, share intimate stories, memories, and desires, weaving past and present into a collective narrative. On stage, their voices, bodies, and emotions take shape to tell who they have been, who they are today, and who they still wish to become: a unique story told through multiple voices, bringing together identity, time, and transformation.
The Community Arts project has been a fundamental part of Antic Teatre’s history since 2011. Aimed at people aged 65 and over, it was created as a space for experimenting with contemporary theatre languages, placing both the community and the individual at its core. Over time, the group has explored diverse practices and forms through collaborations with artists connected to Antic Teatre, building a shared path of research, expression, and connection. An experience that values personal stories and transforms them into collective creation.
