Archivos Cósmicos (Cosmic Archives, published by ¡Caramba!) is the second collection by cartoonist Flavita Banana. True to her maxim of supporting local bookshops and initiatives, she has come to launch her book accompanied by laughter, woes and beer.
Her cartoons reflect the saddest aspects of today’s society: conformity, lovelessness, incoherence. Somehow she manages to take on these subjects with humour and cynicism in her cartoons, which are published weekly in El País and S Moda, and monthly in La Maleta de Portbou, Mongolia magazine and BCN Més among others.
As a counterpart to the solitary nature of her work, her book launches and presentations have become parties of the absurd, unsuitable for anyone who is easily offended.
The books will be available to buy at the launch, and the author will sign copies for anyone who wishes.
