What if the first person to land on the moon had been a woman? We’re inviting all women to this moon. We want to host a reunion of all past, present and future female bodies. A coven. An endless celebration.
Silver Ballad is a poetic journey through the bodies that inhabit us, a tribute to the women who inspire us and the female dancers who have left their mark on us. It’s the search for and the discovery of a place of freedom and safety. It’s the conquest of an oasis of moondust.
LaSúbita is a collective created in 2017 as a result of the encounters between Laura Alcalà and Emma Riba and their need to dance, create and share together. This collaboration led to Silver Ballad, their first full-length dance piece, a tribute to the invisible by means of a poetic journey through the bodies that inhabit us, the women who inspire us and the dancers who leave traces on our bodies. The piece has a side project named practicasdeloinvisible, a container/lab of practices that emerged from the creative process, in other words, a meeting space for women who dance to reflect on invisibility (or that which is invisible).
