Insula is a project that explores the feeling of solitude and the demons we find within. On an island lost in the middle of the void, our singular and solitary protagonist will struggle and transform in order to understand his own exile, his own shadow, and dare to explore the outside world.
An extraordinary language on the chinese pole; circus, dance, puppetry, and mask will lead us into a minimalist and graphic universe, where our solitudes coexist and the demons dance.
Alexandre Duran Davins, circus artist and creator from Mataró, assisted in movement and dramaturgy by Carla Piris, has shaped a universe around unwanted solitude. An emerging artist graduated from the Higher School of Circus Arts in Brussels, he specializes in chinese pole, seeking its technical deformation and delving into a romantic exploration of the attraction to the abyss.
