Insula is a project that explores the feeling of loneliness and the demons we find within. On an island lost in the middle of the void, our singular and solitary protagonist will struggle and transform in order to understand his own exile, his own shadow, and dare to explore the outside world.
An unprecedented language on the Chinese pole; circus, dance, puppetry, and mask will take us to a minimalist and graphic universe, where our solitudes coexist and demons dance.
Alexandre Duran Davins, circus artist and creator from Mataró, assisted in movement and dramaturgy by Carla Piris, has shaped a universe around unwanted solitude. An emerging artist who graduated from the Higher School of Circus Arts in Brussels, he specialises in Chinese pole, searching for its technical possibilities and delving into a romantic exploration of the appeal of the abyss.
