MATERIC.ORG is a nomadic space for radical creation and teaching focused on performative practices. We see art as a revolutionary force and, on that basis, aspire to become a hothouse for artistic investigation. Based in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona) from 2015 to 2020, currently we exist as a nomadic space. The project provides opportunities for the creation of links between local and international communities of artists, activists and researchers.

In March 2020, we at MATERIC.ORG –nomadic space for radical creation and teaching– put out an open call for videos on the following subjects: Physical Rebellion, Displaced Home, Neoliberal Virus, (De)Colonised Tenderness, Analog Cyborg, Mutant Time and World of Dreams. At that point in time we realised that everything revolved around a single subject with a negative and acritical aura. Given the saturation of monothematic information that contrives to alienate the thinking and sensitive body, we thought it a matter of urgency to activate other types of conversation – sensorial, affective and critical – by means of this open call. We felt the need to offer creators a platform from which to express themselves in these current times. We received 110 works from all over the world from which we selected 41.
Two years on from the original call out and shortlisting, the following pieces have been selected for screening at FLUX CLUB.

FLUX CLUB compleix la 13a temporada a l’Antic Teatre i el 22è aniversari de la seva creació, a l’any 2000.
Es tracta d’una programació de vídeo amb periodicitat quinzenal que reflecteix la vitalitat del vídeo de creació a Barcelona. Acull tot tipus de sessions amb projeccions, videoperformances i col·loquis que ofereixen al públic la possibilitat del contacte directe amb els videocreadors. Poden ser sessions monogràfiques d’autors reconeguts, sessions temàtiques dedicades a gèneres com la videodansa i la videopoesia, o col·lectives dedicades a autors emergents.
Són sessions obertes a tot el que està passant en el camp del vídeo a la ciutat, que complementen el festival de vídeo d’autor FLUX des del punt de vista dels seus continguts i que estenen el seu període d’acció més enllà dels dies estrictament dedicats al festival, que té lloc al desembre.
HABITUAL VIDEO TEAM
és una associació sense ànim de lucre, dirigida per Josep M. Jordana i Lis Costa, que té com objectiu principal la promoció d’activitats relacionades amb les arts audiovisuals i concretament amb la videocreació: www.habitualvideoteam.org
Una branca de les seves activitats és l’organització de festivals, cicles i mostres de vídeo, com el festival de vídeo d’autor FLUX: www.fluxfestival.org, i el festival d’arts escèniques audiovisuals INFLUX: www.influxfestival.org.
Una altra branca és la documentació videogràfica d’actes culturals vinculats sobretot amb la música i la poesia experimentals. L’any 2012 posa en marxa el projecte SUMMA per convertir aquest patrimoni audiovisual (més de 1000 gravacions) en un arxiu videogràfic online d’accés públic: www.summa-hvt.org.
