Cavitat f. is an immersive solo piece that weaves together circus, dance and theatre, and unfolds as a collective exercise in affect. The work explores that which circulates between one body and another: how we affect one another, what is left behind and where the limit lies between what belongs to us and what does not. A circus body activates a space for shared resonance where cavities – physical, emotional and symbolic – can emerge and be heard, holding up the shape of the bodies that traversed them.
Artist, researcher and mediator Alba Ramió i Güell has developed a practice somewhere at the crossroads of these activities. Trained in circus arts in Catalonia, France and Stockholm, she has constructed a career highlighted by collective acrobatic balance and research on the ideas and vision behind contemporary circus. She has developed creation, research, mediation and teaching projects. She is co-founder of non-mixed international collective Ino Kollektiv and is behind such projects as Paradoxa Circense, an investigation into the relationship between pleasure and pain in circus, and Arcana Circense, a teaching tool on circus performances. Cavitat f. is her first performance solo.
