When my first daughter was born, I faced the chilling reality that I was not a man. I was a housekeeper. I thought I wasn’t going to survive, and in that year when I found myself domesticated, I developed a technology of focus that allowed me to put a filter on reality and see it through the lens of my camera. These shots captured my daily life in an acerbic, self-ironic present. MY DOMESTIC LIFE is a collection of 164 photos that are an oracular domestic delirium that has deeply inspired CAVALA‘s entire creative process. In her natural habitat, in a kind of menagerie of domestic life, this cyborg is somewhere between commitment to failure and constructive self-sarcasm.
