One night, two friends have a conversation.
He tells her:
“I want you to know that I suffer from vertigo, I’m frightened of snakes and scared of the dark; I’m claustrophobic, agoraphobic, I panic in the water, I don’t like flying, I can’t watch horror movies, I don’t enjoy roller coasters and more recently terrorism has me pretty worried.
Nonetheless, I feel that fear is what is most alive in me.”
She confesses that she has been planning her own death, and that it will probably take place the following year.
That same night, they decide to meet up and do something.
Adeline and Nicolas met in Paris in 2003. They were at university together. Years later they both ended up in Barcelona. At present, she lives in New York and he is still in Barcelona. She’s a musician and he’s in performing arts. They’re good friends and call each other regularly to tell each other things. When she gets up, his day is almost over; when she goes to bed; he’s about to wake up.
About a year ago they decided to embark on a joint performance project. They met up in Barcelona and began working on their first piece: Este verano hice parapente y me reconcilié con el vacío (This year I went paragliding and came to terms with space).
