Screening of short films Brutal Relax (2010), Fist of Jesus (2012) and La última Navidad del universo (2019) with director David Muñoz and FX artist Mónica Murguia providing the presentation and the post-show discussion.

Contest Rules 2022 and deadline for sending short films SOON

This will be the thirteenth edition of our Horror and Fantastic Short Film Festival, Antic Horror Picture Show, organised by Antic Teatre. The pre-selected shorts will be screened and the winners will be announced on the same day, with two prizes given: the Jury Award (trophy and €500) and the Audience Award (trophy and €300).

 

JURY – 13th ANTIC HORROR PICTURE SHOW –

MÓNICA MURGUÍA (Barcelona, 1978)

Special effects designer and artist.

She created the FX for feature films such as Asmodexia (2014) and Salvación (2016) as well as for numerous shorts including Fist of Jesus (2012), Blood Bonding (2016) and Assholess (2015), the latter winning the TAC award for best Catalan-produced special effects.
Make-up artist for Sitges Zombiewalk since 2010 and head of the characterisation team for Sant Cugat Fantàstic’s Cercavila Zombie.

Creator of the “Lo pont del infern” trophy for Fangofest.

Organiser of Trash Basté and collaborator with Pies de Gato.

 

DAVID MUÑOZ (Barcelona, 1980)

Screenwriter and director.

He has a lengthy trajectory in short films in the fantastic genre, with several works and more than 200 awards to his name. Some of the most noteworthy include Brutal Relax (2010), Fist of Jesus (2012) and La Última Navidad del Universo (2020), all of which received the Méliès Silver Award for Best Short Film in the Fantastic Genre. The two former were part of the feature film Zombieworld (2015).

 

IAGO de SOTO (Barcelona, 1980)

Producer, director and screenwriter.

After studying at ESCAC, he directed several short films such as Corre (2002) and Corre 2 (2003). 

In 2009 he premiered Versus, his first full-length feature. An independent action thriller that was screened for the first time at the Sitges Festival and which was subsequently shown at many international festivals. Since then he has focused on advertising, as a director.

He returned to fiction with La Guarida (2018), which was presented at more than 150 festivals around the world, received more than 50 prizes and was shortlisted for the Goya 2020 Awards.
