The upcoming meeting on the 12th of February will be twofold: firstly, the series of open meetings or ParliaMents devoted to Grassroots Culture in Barcelona, which took place between May 2019 and March 2020, will be closed; and secondly, the constitution of a plural debate space for discussing the future creation of a Citizen Culture Observatory will be discussed.
This performance is part of the Sâlmon Festival and has been articulated in relation to the Santa Mònica arts center, intersecting with its current exhibition The tradition that crosses us.
The Citizen ParliaMent is a non-partisan space for the confluence, proposal, discussion, cooperation and political actions of people willing to act together to counterbalance the power of decision of political parties and economic elites, which have often used the representative political system to endorse a reductive conception of the common good in order to benefit the market’s financial interests. The Citizen Culture ParliaMent is a collegiate body that counts with a core group and opens its meeting to the citizens.
