A one-person demonstration of visuals, live music, body and text.
You, being offended when we say you’re white is just white fragility.
Don’t tell me you’re not racist; talk to me when you’re radically anti-racist.
I didn’t come up with the system I’m denouncing, nor the pyramidal hierarchy that places your identity at the top.
Being poor doesn’t cancel being white, being trans doesn’t cancel being white.
In this session, whiteness will receive an Arabsplaining that will deconstruct both neo-liberalism and blonde dreadlocks.
You will feel uncomfortable.
You will learn how the white man imposed capitalist binarisms on the world.
Without our dissidence (the fruit of Euro-centric colonialism) you won’t have your privileges (the fruit of Euro-centric colonialism).

QUEER FALAFEL كویر فلافل is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist who intersects visuals, live music, performance and text. Denouncing white supremacy from a de-colonial, non-binary perspective. Los Papeles – 2018 tells the story of a queer relationship in Beirut and the unfair immigration process to ‘Utopian’ Europe on a Lebanese passport. PAREMEU – 2019, a short docu-theatre piece, is a portrait of their father that talks about the relationship, masculinity, homosexuality and the Lebanese civil war. TECNÒCRATA – 2021 reflects on the images projected on social media, the fetishisation of queer Arab feminised identities and self-orientalism. In 2022, alongside Mad Monkey, they created BLAST, an Electro-Arab duo. Genderless, free, rough, and violent, with queer / de-colonial content. In 2024 they created their most recent piece YOU DON’T LOOK ARAB عربیّة†عربیّة†, a radically anti-racist and de-colonial one-person demonstration. FALAFEL also performs as a GenderFuck persona touring the world, appearing in politicised queer and BIPOC/migrant venues and collectives. Creating spaces and references for queer Arabs.
