It begins with a recorder
It begins by pressing two symbols at the same time

Two symbols that capture words, rewrite them and then magnetise them.
Sound and written word, spoken words and thoughts weave together the experiences of Cesáreo Casino at the front in Spain’s Civil War: stories fragmented by the effect time has on memory; words encountered in speeches; words repeated so often that they disappear, die or resuscitate depending on the wave that catches them.
36 characters is the maximum for standard subtitles.
36 is the year the Spanish Civil War began.
36 is the year my grandfather marched to war.

Sandra Navarro, Barelona. I would describe my work as the juxtaposition of my academic career and my professional experience in the fields of stage management, text-based theatre, choreography and performance, which for some years I’ve been developing using video, sound and live arts. In my most recent projects I’ve been conducting a search for identity using a variety of disciplines based on the body and in text.
