Born in San Sebastian, Oscar Gómez Mata lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland. An actor, stage director, author and scenographer, he began his theatrical activities in Spain in 1987 with the company Legaléon-T. In 1997, he founded the company L’Alakran : he has designed, written and directed more than 20 plays and performances which have been coproduced by Swiss and European venues and which tour in Europe and Latin America. An artist in residence at the Théâtre Saint-Gervais de Genève and the Subsistances in Lyon, he has also been involved in pedagogical work for several schools in Switzerland or France and was the head of the Master in stage practice and visual culture at the University of Alcalá in Madrid. Since 2013, he teaches at the Manufacture – the theatre school of French-speaking Switzerland (HETSR).
