*After-show on Friday, 20th by:

Sara Manubens. Artist, choreographer and transvestite in Barcelona. Her work moves between site-specific, performance and dance and focuses on trans-corporality and its impact on reality. She approaches transvestite practice and identity from an experimental, choreographic and critical point of view. She has been developing her own creative processes since 2015. She situates herself in a trans-doing, crossing and displacing issues to produce new spaces of relation where the uncertain becomes a choreography. She is also interested in producing methodologies that challenge the usual times of production. She designs and executes educational projects with a gender perspective in different programmes and public schools, among them Drag Kids (2020), a family cross-dressing session, or Teen Horror (2023), a horror film with teenagers. She has been a member of the collectives Misión Divina and TeknoDrag. He collaborates as a performer in projects by Cuqui Jerez, Pere Faura, Aimar Pérez Galí, Idoia Zabaleta. She writes programmes and reviews on dance, theatre and performance for the Mercat de les Flors Blog. She is studying for a Master’s degree in Performing Arts Practice and Visual Culture (Museo Reina Sofía and ARTEA group), directed by Victòria Pérez-Royo and José Antonio Sánchez. She is trained in Contemporary Dance, Improvisation and Physical Theatre.

Prologue (desde Oasis of Serenity)  is a crossover of visions and chemicals, where the body is in a state of constant crisis. There is no narrative, but the experience is felt: hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol drive a visual practice that seeks not to be seen, but embodied. The gaze flickers, cuts off the world, as a chaotic cinema emerges within the pupil. I explore the potentiality of physical and mystical states in a body that dissolves, reconfigures and beats to the rhythm of a constant emotional flow. Prologue (desde Oasis of Serenity) offers an opening into the unknown, a space where practice, ecstasy and transformation coexist, always on the brink of arrival. It is a chemical threshold where the body feels before it understands, overwhelmed by an outside world that passes through it in real time. The heart beats faster, waiting, always on the edge of arrival.
