Exagerada is a solo about endings and the reflections that follow them, but it’s also about the things we all feel and are unable to explain, in particular love and mourning. WhatsApp messages, like the one the artist received from her ex, are a ridiculous way of dealing with important human discussions such as the need for affection and the precarity of some relationship structures. The piece draws inspiration from a real break-up experience combined with biographical information, and unfolds in the form of both performance and conference loaded with philosophical and psychoanalytical reflections. The desire for relationships and, at the same time, the appeal of selfish individuality reveal one of the current paradoxes of love.

Natasha Padilha (Brazil, 1990) is a multidisciplinary actress and storyteller. She holds a Masters in Performance Practice and Visual Culture from ARTEA, UCLM and Reina Sofía Museu, and a Diploma in Performance Writing and Gender Perspective from Madrid Universidad Complutense. She is a cofounder of @projectduna, supported by the Center for Applied Human Rights at the University of York (CAHR – UoY) and a member of duo Rayo Tropical (Brazil/Spain/Germany). The main themes of her work are biography and self-fiction, the everyday and identity, and/or the relationships betwteen what is public and what is private. Her creative logic is dominated by theatre and humour, although never exclusively.
