Mainstream pornography is the kind consumed on the internet, which has become a phenomenon of the masses. Beyond the sex itself, it harbours significant connotations about who we are as a society: what we like and what disturbs us; how we act; our affirmations and contradictions; and what makes us transgress ethical barriers. The creators of Porn Is On question the consumption of mainstream porn and its influence on the sexual identity of our society. Using movement, text and video they have created a language that blends theatrical and cinematographic elements in order to highlight a subject that still bears a lot of talking about.
Marina Rodríguez Llorente graduated in dramatic arts at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona and moved to Berlin. With the help of a grant, she completed a residency with mask-based theatre company Familie Flöz, with whom she has been working as an actress since 2013, touring internationally and taking part in Avignon Festival 2013 and Edinburgh Festival 2014.
In 2011 she began working with international theatre company Theater Am Tisch, where she directed and acted in the pieces Altbau and Megalopolis. In 2016 she joined theatre collective Anderplatz for the premiere of Detached. In 2017 she won the Caravana de Tràilers competition with the Porn Is On idea thanks to a great team; the piece will premiere at TNT Festival 2018.
