The work highlights the pelvis as the centre of movement, connecting with ancestral dances like Gaga to recover the Afro-descendant heritage systematically denied in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. It also addresses non-binary (queer) gender expressions, using chaos as a symbol of resistance to the limits imposed by colonial binarism. This project invites the public to reflect on cultural identity, self-perception, and bodily liberation through a dance that celebrates disorder.

Malvin Starlin Montero Frías – Puerca de Goma. Movement artist trained in classical ballet, contemporary dance, Afrodance and free improvisation. Their practice is rooted in community, creating a living movement that democratises dance and bridges ritual with the everyday. Through their work, they explore forced labour and the romanticisation of mestizaje in the Caribbean (*El delirio de la mulata*), challenging structures and using the body as a bridge between history, identity and social transformation. Montero began their dance career in 2003 at the Alina Abreu Dance Conservatory. They graduated from the National School of Dance of Fine Arts (Endanza) and Pro Danza in Havana. Their professional path includes performing in *Cecilia Valdés* at Teatro de la Zarzuela, marking a milestone as part of the First Black ballet in that venue. They were also a member of Dunia Dance Theatre in Belgium, under the direction of choreographer Harold George. Holding a degree in Choreography and Dance Performance from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (ISDAl), Montero has broad experience in contemporary dance, improvisation and instant composition, including training with composer Chefa Alonso. They have worked with renowned choreographers such as Jesús Rubio and Poliana Lima, expanding their artistic language and exploring new narratives of the body on stage. One of their most notable initiatives is ZebraPrieta, a platform promoting diversity and representation in dance. Their piece El mal comío no piensa was a finalist and award-winner at the 35th Madrid Choreographic Contest in 2021 and at the Solo Improvisa competition at Sala Cuarta Pared the same year. Their work has been featured in prominent festivals such as Danza Metropolitana and FIT de Cádiz, solidifying their presence in the international dance scene. In 2025, they participated in the Kontorno Festival in Praia, Cabo Verde, where they led a dance residency with local youth and presented an excerpt of their research-based performance Arró con Mango—a piece that brings together queer bodies, Blackness, and intra-community tensions through a grounded artistic practice. Montero continuously challenges stereotypes through their artistic approach, addressing pressing social issues and using dance as a tool for awareness and reflection. They have collaborated on various projects, including the music video *La Niebla* by Charles Lavaigne, contributing their choreographic vision and bodily expression to generate new perspectives on movement and identity.
