“…sand for pockets/ dust for shoes/ dandruff for shoulders/ silence for mouths/ air for heads/ wood for brains/ blood for hosts/ fire for books/ gold for their churches/ bullets for their cannon/ …/ crosses for the dead/ a single cross for the dead/ darkness for our days…” “…from The prayers of Ramón”. Jorge Albuerne.

Born in Oviedo (Asturias) a year before the death of the dictator. He studied Engraving and Printing at the Oviedo School of Applied Arts and Trades in Oviedo, and subsequently obtained a degree in Fine Arts at the Universidad del País Vasco, specialising in Ceramics and Sculpture. With early links to the world of street circus, he discovered and became involved in the world of dance in Bilbao (Muelle3), where he began his training as a dancer, later ending up in Barcelona. During this same period he continued his circus training in acrobatic balance, cradle, Chinese pole and flying trapeze. Together with other artists and on his own he has presented various stage acts always combining movement, visual arts and circus. He formed part of the La Makabra collective until its eviction in 2007. He has been a member of several dance and/ or circus companies such as Malqueridas, Raravis, Cirkaros, Tranuites Circus among others. He has taught Chinese pole and movement in Europe, Argentina and Mexico. As a director and/or outside eye he has worked on different projects such as ZENDRA, En Ebullició, 46 Combinat de Circ and Bestiario. He is currently working solo as Zirkus Frak (now on tour with the one-man show NOMARRAMÓN); forms a company with dancer Cecilia Colacrai; and is part of Chinese pole collective LaCLANDESTINA (The Boss, the Keeper and the Best Boy).
