Bubble is a face-off between two circus performers, both specialising in acrobatics and dance: Ginés Belchí Gabarrón and Jesús Navarro Espinosa.
In Bubble we experience two sides of one person, embodied in two different figures; a struggle for reflection, a colourless fight using blows and the most intimate of caressess, which become roars of laughter tinged with love and hate. Tenderness and flesh; lights and delicacy.
A paradox, delirious in its enjoyment of life itself.
Thinking, thinking until nervously breathless, avoiding the present moment; instead developing sharpness as a habit.
Submission and struggle that prevent us from distinguishing reality from fantasy.
El lado oscuro de las Flores emerged as a company in 2016, with Ginés Belchí Gabarrón and Jesús Navarro Espinosa as its main performers.
Ginés and Jesús met in 2010 on the Rogelio Rivel Circus School annual course.
Ginés continued his training at the professional circus school based in Toulouse, Le Lido, specialising in acrodance.
Jesús continued his own training at La Central del Circ.
The company emerged in 2016 after a week-long residency at la Central del Circ where they created an initial 10 minute piece shown as part of the Rogeliio Rivel Circus School anniversary event.
Following on from this, La Central del Circ provided their support by granting them artistic residency En Creuades in an agreement with Cooperative Rue et du Cirque 2R2C. This led to a new phase and a new project, entitled Bubble, which has been nominated for the Zirkolika 2016 awards.
