Da::Ma present a spectacle for the eyes and ears that combines David Caño’s voice and texts with sound and audiovisuals from Mauri Ibañez. A live session where electronic music, enhanced with a touch of industrial, melds with hard, naked, sometimes fragmented verse, all on a somber and misty, deliberately dreamlike set.
On tornar? tells us of devastated areas, unknown lands, border territories; small, abandoned chapels, love desperate to survive; night and the city, open wounds, desire and all the remaining small havens where we can still find one another… after everything; despite everything; still.
David Caño has published eight tomes of poetry and received several awards, most recently Barcelona’s Jocs Florals 2019 for his anthology Un cos preciós per destruir. A constant presence on stage, both solo or with his band Ovidi4, he has shown his most organic and physical side in performances such as Hematoma, and his most playful and experimental side together with Gerard Altaió and Els Nois Tutú. Da::Ma is his latest project, a mix of electronica, noise and poetry; a spectacle for the eyes and ears combining David Caño’s voice with a live session by DJ Mauri Ibañez.
Mauri Ibañez is a DJ, musical producer and creator of performances since the 90s. He has also worked as a music journalist. He has taken part in a wide range of artistic projects, performing at most of the main Catalan, national and French festivals. His work is known for an exciting sound presented with performative and visual elements.
